DIGITAL ARTEFACT PITCH
To do this I will write and publish my poetry on my created Instagram a few times a week in order to garner a following and work towards creating a safe ‘community’ and space for likeminded individuals. The main social utility of my work is to heavily emphasise that healing, growing, and changing is a really normal thing and although we may get wrapped up in always being okay, that it’s alright to feel things and be at this stage of your life and personal journey. Therefore, strengthening my contact with society and relativeness to others, through the creation and cultivation of an online safe space. For the collaborative aspect of this project, I have asked my close friends and family to write a couple pieces for my Instagram about their own personal experiences whatever they may be, as they encounter their own challenges and navigate their individual journeys’. These will be anonymously posted sporadically throughout my feed as a ‘feature post’ to break up the flow of the space and open it up to new thoughts and perspectives.
In brainstorming the idea for my digital artefact for this class I struggled with which direction I wanted to go in. After a lot of thinking and asking friends for advice I decided I wanted to create a meaningful project and base it off my recent personal experiences. I also examined my personal skills in order to further my project and realised my love for writing will be of great benefit to this assessment. Therefore, I have decided to write original poetry pieces and publish them on social media site Instagram, to gain a platform and share my work. The predominant theme of poetry I will create exists around growth and healing your heart and mind. I recently experienced a breakup and decided that documenting my journey to find myself again after giving so much of me to someone else, will not only be extremely beneficial in my healing process but also may make this idea of growing less daunting to know that other people are experiencing it as well.
